BATH TUB – YES OR NO?
It’s a big decision when considering your bathroom renovation. Especially if you decide to sell in the future. It could ultimately make or break a sale.
Time poor households could argue they would love to have time to soak away in a bubble bath but realistically they simply do not have the time. Having a bath tub would just collect dust and create another area to keep clean. However, if you have a young family, a bathtub is really a necessity.
Buyers with a young family won’t even consider purchasing a home without a bath. You may think you will never sell, but what if you decide to rent the property out – this may limit tenants that will be interested.
A bath also gives you options. You may not think you have time for a relaxing soak, but at least you will have one if the need or want arises. A relaxing bath is a godsend after a hard emotional day or physical tiring day. A great way to relieve aching muscles.
On the opposing side though, walk in showers are in high demand these days. They create a sense of space in a small bathroom where otherwise a bath may look bulky or tired looking. Large walk in showers generally are the most requested option in units and small townhouses. A bath does take up space.
Considering environmental and economic factors, there is no doubt a 5 minute shower uses much less water than running a full bath.
At the end of the day you need to decide what is going to work best for you and your family.
